Transparency
It may sound surprising, but Animal Heroes is not only about the animal heroes and their animals but also about you as a supporter of one or more animal heroes! Our goal is 100% happy supporters and we dare to stand up for that. Because only with your help we can save animals from starvation or neglect. If you are happy with us, it means that your support has made a difference for animals and that we have been able to show this to you! That’s why we developed a personal dashboard for you, where you will receive donor updates from the animal heroes you support.

Our 5 promises to you:
- We will never send you anything by mail. We also like trees and so we are completely paperless. Sending mailpacks is also very expensive; we prefer to spend that money on emergency aid for animals. If you are asked to enter your address details for making a donation, this is only necessary for credit card payment options. we will never use this information;
- Your donation will not be spent on salaries or office costs. Simply because we work on a voluntary basis and our office is virtual. We spend donations as efficiently as possible on your chosen animal hero project. As most of our activities take place in areas affected by war or natural disasters, the expenditure on a project may deviate from the costs estimated in advance. It may also happen that more money is received through donations for a particular project than subsequently spent. In such cases, the difference between the project costs and the donations received for that project will be spent on a comparable animal hero project.
- Are we perfect? No, because we incur travel expenses. We have a responsibility to you as a donor to make sure your donation goes to the right place. Therefore, we will personally visit animal heroes (whenever possible) so that we can guarantee that your donation truly reaches animal heroes. Due to environmental impact, we travel only when absolutely necessary and do our best to travel as sustainably as possible;
- We always show you how your donation has helped animals in need;
- We are modern and old-fashioned at the same time; we don't have a chatbot or a menu with options if you call us on the phone. Do you have a question? Esther is happy to speak to you personally by email, phone or Whatsapp.

The board
Animal Heroes’ board consists of business professionals with solid international and leadership experience, each with a heart for animals. The board is responsible for corporate governance, managing the foundation and assuming the responsibilities and duties as set forth in Dutch law. Board members hold their positions on a voluntary basis and receive no compensation for their work.
ANBI Status
Animal Heroes is a registered foundation in the Netherlands that holds an ANBI status.
