Support 153 abused dogs from fake shelter in Uganda

Nepal: Emergency aid has arrived to animals

It has taken some time, but the rescue teams from Sneha’s Care – our local partner in Nepal – have now reached some of the most difficult-to-access areas and have just returned.

What they found there was heartbreaking. The floods destroyed homes and animal shelters and washed away animal feed and medicines. Animals were injured or swept away by the floodwaters. Many families lost almost everything, yet continued searching for their animals and sharing what little food they had left with them.

Together with Stichting Dierennood and World Animal Protection, we are making sure that your support reaches the animals who need our help most.

Travelling along damaged roads and through mud and debris, Sneha’s Care reached remote communities in Nuwakot and Rasuwa. Going from family to family, the rescue teams assessed 4,612 animals and identified their needs.

Thanks in part to your support, they were able to provide medical care to 200 animals and feed more than 1,000 hungry animals. Vets treated wounds, infections and parasites, and cared for sick and weakened animals. The team also distributed vitamins and minerals and provided families with tarpaulins, buckets, and food and water bowls. Medicines were also left with local vets so they could continue caring for the animals.

Our local partner Animal Nepal was also able to take action thanks in part to your support. They helped 58 families caring for a total of 400 to 500 farm animals, distributing 3,300 kg of animal feed and minerals to affected animals. In the severely affected area of Belkotgadhi, they also vaccinated 52 dogs against rabies.

We are now raising funds to purchase more food and medicines for both organisations as they prepare for their third trip to areas that were previously inaccessible.

Will you help us reach even more animals in Nepal?

100% of your donation will go directly towards helping the animals.

On behalf of the animals and the teams at Sneha’s Care and Animal Nepal, thank you so much. Thanks to your support, countless animals affected by the floods are receiving the care they so desperately need.
