Doghouse Villages for Ukrainian Animal Heroes

Winter is approaching in Ukraine and after our first successful Doghouse Village project for Natalia’s shelter in Lviv in February 2024, we are proud to announce the completion of our second Doghouse Village for Olga’s shelter, Happy Tails, in Mikolaev. A third Doghouse Village is now underway at Marina’s shelter in Dnipro, and we’ve already received requests from three additional shelters across Ukraine.

Ukrainian shelters are overcrowded, and many abandoned dogs lack a proper doghouse to protect them from rain, snow, and the bitter cold. Countless dogs spend the winter on frozen ground, exposed to the harsh elements without any shelter.

We need your help to build three more Doghouse Villages for abandoned dogs in Ukraine before the long, freezing winter sets in. Every contribution counts – even 1 euro can help provide a warm, dry doghouse for a dog in need.

How we plan to help?

Local Animal Heroes determine how many doghouses are needed for their Doghouse Village and sign a memorandum of understanding. We then partner with local producers to build the doghouses, making this approach more cost-effective and environmentally friendly than shipping them from abroad. This also supports the local economy. After signing, we cover 50% of the costs upfront and the remaining 50% upon completion and delivery.

We’ve successfully carried out aid missions following wars and natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods, and wildfires in Gaza, The West Bank, Turkey, Ukraine, Italy and Greece.
