Thanks to your support, our local partner in Venezuela has now been able to provide veterinary care to 1,700 animals. As almost none of these animals have been spayed or neutered, our next priority is prevention. Starting next week, we will launch free spay and neuter campaigns to prevent an already critical situation from escalating further.
At the same time, 160 dogs and 195 cats urgently need food, either because they have been directly affected by the crisis or because they have been rescued.
We are now entering the second and most challenging phase of our response. International aid organisations are beginning to leave the area and media attention is fading, but the animals remain — and so does their need for help.
